As the weather gets colder, I find myself visiting cafes more and more to motivate myself to do work. Here are three fashion and beauty tips I’ve been using to boost my mood and productivity especially when I’m at a cafe.
I’m easily distracted, so I like to have my hair out of my face while working. Pulling my hair back in a puff or wearing a hat allows me to focus a bit more on whatever task I have on hand. Then I don’t have to worry about whether people are staring at me because I forgot to untwist a section or because my headphones are accidentally unplugged.
The color yellow is a mood-booster that stimulates optimism, creativity, and confidence. Every time I look down at my arms while typing on my computer or phone, the yellow of this sweater subtly lifts my spirits! Of course I don’t wear yellow every day, but I do wear a gold watch that has a similar mood-boosting effect. And though I can’t see it, I have a few golden blond highlights in my hair, so that contributes too (at least in my head)!
While your clothes can be yellow, you definitely don’t want your smile to be yellow. Spending a few hours at a cafe each week usually means a few cups of coffee, latte, and/or chai tea for me, and those kinds of drinks can take a toll on the state of my teeth.
Smiling is another mood and productivity booster, but I can’t do it with confidence if my teeth are not bright. When I need a whitening boost I whip out my Colgate® Optic White® Toothbrush + Whitening Pen, which provides effective whitening and convenience without waiting or rinsing. Plus it whitens your teeth five shades brighter in just three weeks – if you don’t believe me, check out my before and after results from last year!
My last tip isn’t a fashion or beauty tip, but it is important to try to get fresh air even though the temperature is dropping. When I start to get sleepy (aka as soon as I get off social media and actually start to work), I take a break by sitting or walking outside for a few minutes. The wind on my face is usually enough to jolt me back awake.
